Is it Really March???

I'm ashamed to say that our last post was before Christmas. My goodness how time flies! I thought the holidays were busy, but these days are even more so. We're enjoying some warm weather right now and work to spend as much time outside as possible.

Virginia Anne has recently gotten into Thomas & Friends and enjoys taking her engines everywhere she goes. They even eat with us sometimes. She loves to walk and we take long walks around the neighborhood with Petey when the weather allows. Last week, we registered her for preschool in the fall (only on Tuesdays and Thursdays) which I think will be a nice change for her and a chance to make some new friends. Her vocabulary is incredible and we call her "repeater" now because she'll repeat anything we say and no word is too advanced for her to try.

Her hair is getting so long now and is hanging in her eyes. Be on the lookout for pictures of the very first haircut in the next few weeks! She is very funny and LOVES to make other people laugh.

Allen is staying busy with work and traveled to DC a couple weeks ago for the CPAC conference. He always enjoys being back in the city that we both love so much. As for myself, I continue to work at Flat Creek once a week and spend the rest of my time managing all of our lives and trying to have fun doing it. So far, it's a blast and I would not trade it for anything.

The Beach

The Fullers have just returned from their first family vacation to the beach. We drove about 10 hours to the Alabama Gulf and stayed in a small community called Kiva Dunes. We met some of our dearest friends who live in Knoxville and have a baby boy slightly younger than Virginia Anne. Even though it was just a few days, we really enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot about how vacations have changed now that we have a little one.

Virginia Anne really enjoyed playing in the sand on the beach, but hated the noise from the ocean. Hurricane Dolly's impact could be seen even where we were as the waves were very loud and got bigger each day. Jellyfish were all over the place so we barely touched the water. The pool on the other hand was wonderful. Most of our time was spent there and Virginia Anne protested every time we pulled her out of the water. Next summer's goal - swim lessons!

Getting Ready for Gramma C

Sunday marks a very important day in the Fuller household. Not only will we host our first "company," but we will welcome Gramma C for her first trip to Tennessee to visit Virginia Anne. Our little girl can hardly contain her excitement, squealing and giggling from time to time, hardly being able to sleep (which we're not pleased about), and insisting on wearing her "I love Gramma C" bib.

To add to the momentous occasion, Virginia Anne's favorite Aunt Erin is ALSO coming to visit next week. Needless to say, it will be a lot of fun.

The First 4th

Virginia Anne spent her first 4th of July at the Fuller Homeplace. A wonderful time was had by all, especially by her Grandmary, as you'll see in this photo. Food, friends, family, and fireworks all combined to make it a wonderful celebration of our nation's birthday. We hope your celebration was just as special as ours.
