Last week was one heck of a week for us. Let's just say that we all hope this week will be better.
Allen was in DC for a conference from Monday through Wednesday night. While he was away, Petey escaped out of the back yard after the wind blew the gate open. Our Suburban was hit in the parking lot (luckily neither Melanie nor Virginia Anne were in the car when it happened) at the local mall, and fortunately the person was kind enough to stick around and be honest about what happened. We also had another nasty storm come through town that made us once again wish we had a weather radio.
Thursday afternoon, Allen was stranded in Nashville after leaving a meeting to realize that the Volvo wouldn't start. Luckily, our mechanic is wonderful and had the car fixed that afternoon.
On Friday, Virginia Anne woke up with a runny nose and Melanie decided they wouldn't be attending their Music with Mommie class that day. By Sunday night, we were waiting in the emergency room trying to get a prescription for antibiotics because Virginia Anne's eye was infected, she had a terrible cough, and couldn't breathe through her nose enough to drink a bottle. After a chest x-ray and a nasal swab, they ruled out pneumonia and the flu. She has slight bronchitis, croup, ear and eye infections. Poor little thing!
She's feeling much better now, but we're hoping this week proves to be much less eventful than the last! Hope you all are happy and healthy, too.
